Andrew Miles

Principal Investigator

Andrew Miles conducts research in two primary areas: morality and theories of human behavior. His work on morality currently examines how moral worldviews vary systematically across social groups and how moral behavior affects our emotions. His work on human action draws on insights from cultural sociology, social psychology, and the cognitive sciences to uncover how and when cultural elements such as values and identities are translated into behavior.

In addition to work on morality and behavior, Miles has dabbled in quantitative research methods including multiple imputation and fixed effect models for longitudinal data.

He has taught workshops on a variety of quantitative topics including regression models for categorical data, techniques for handling missing data, and using statistical software, and currently teaches introductory statistics to a large class of eager undergraduates.
